Anonymous: I used to be a huge raver up until last year when I started to realize the immense amount of racism going on in the community. For instance, that girl Lady Casa who is known for wearing an indian headdress apparently given to her by a tribe. But now I see many people wearing the headdress and personally it offends me just as much as the other blatant racism going on at events from people yelling 'nigga' to wearing rasta only because they smoke weed, etc. Frustrating.
"I am full Lakota and I tried to speak about this but was silenced by a lot of people mainly whites who have the excuse of ‘it’s not meant that way. We want to embrace your culture.’ But at the same time, you’re mocking it. You put the headdress on for one night of partying! NOT WAR! You’re not dying for a purpose while partying. IDK. I just feel like it a huge issue for me because I love the community but there are thing going on in between that shouldn’t be happening and using plur as a defense to support racism to me is just completely wrong."
I don’t know if you want a response from me or you’re venting but either way, I see where you’re coming from.
